Reef of Daedalus, Rocky islands and Zabargad cruise's diving spots

Daedalus reef

The reef is located about 160 km south of Port ghalib (Marsa Alam). Classified as a national park, this vast reef impresses with its large falls, its great variety of corals and colors as well as its diversity of marine species. Often exposed to strong currents, drift dives are favoured. They allow to appreciate the spectacular falls, while observing the great blue and its occupants.

Rocky Island

The island is located about 250 km south of Daedalus reef. This protected island hides a fascinating reef, composed of deep drop-offs and offering various varieties of corals as well as gorgonians, etc. Due to its isolation and an almost permanent current, it seems that all marine life of the Red Sea is concentrated there.

Zabargad Island

About 1 km north of Rocky Island is the largest uninhabited island in the Red Sea: Zabargad. It is surrounded by a large turquoise lagoon. In summer, turtles come to lay their eggs on the beach. It is of spectacular beauty and the underwater architecture is incredible. The southern part is composed of a shallow plateau with a beautiful coral garden and caves. The end of the plateau draws us to a drop-off where it is possible to observe a great variety of fish. The northern part is home to a small, well-preserved shipwreck located in shallow water.

South of Marsa Alam

Fury Shoals is composed of several reefs like Shaab Malahi, Claudio or Maksour, all more colorful than the other. Beautiful perspective dives between caves, tunnels, coral gardens, shallow plateaus and drops-off.

Elphinstone reef

It is certainly the most famous in the south of the Red Sea. Located about 20 km from Port Ghalib (Marsa Alam), the reef is extended in its northern and southern parts by 2 plateaus that descend by stairs to 60 m. The west and east sides are magnificent falls. In general, Elphinstone Reef is exposed to strong currents and surprises are common!
